Austin Event Photographer | Savannah’s 1st Birthday

I am so excited about posting Savannah’s 1st birthday on the blog! I had so much fun photographing this event, and completely fell in love with this family and their sweet friends.

Savannah’s party had a lemonade theme, and Ashley (Savannah’s beautiful mom), had every detail of the party down perfectly. I was giddy with excitement while I was scoping out and snapping photos of all the cutesy little details! Ashley had everything from cute cupcakes to lemon drops for the guests to take home. The guests drank lemonade out of mason jars with cute pink and yellow paper straws.
One of my most favorite details was the journal entries that Ashley had hanging on the wall. For every month of Savannah’s first year, Ashley wrote her a page about who Savannah was becoming as a little girl. Along with each entry, there was a photo for each month. It was so sweet to read Ashley’s words to her precious daughter.

Savannah was surrounded by so much love on her first birthday. I was so thrilled to be able to be a part of this super fun day!

Austin Family Photographer | Donna+Evans

Although every session I do brings me joy, there are those that come along and touch my heart in a special way. This session was one of those. Sessions with a story behind them are my favorites. In this case, it was an amazing story of adoption.
Donna adopted Evans from Haiti a couple of years ago, but it wasn’t an easy road because of the tragic earthquake. As I listened to her tell the story and hear the joy in her voice about finally bringing Evans home, I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. Just from spending a couple of hours with Donna+Evans, I gained so much respect for Donna as a woman and also a love for her precious son. Watching them play and laugh together filled my heart with so much joy!

It was such an honor to be able to photograph this beautiful little family!

Austin Engagement Photographer | Daniel+Eden

A couple of weeks ago, I got to photograph this beautiful couple!
I knew Eden from when I went to Texas A&M. She was in my fish camp group, and we became friends my first semester. After leaving A&M, we lost touch a little bit, so I was thrilled when she asked me to do her engagements. It was fun to catch up and meet her fiancé Daniel.

Eden+Daniel were absolutely precious! I barely had to instruct them on how to pose. They were so romantic and fun!
When we were walking back to our cars, I snapped some photos of them walking together, and as I was shooting, they turned suddenly and made goofy faces at me. I cracked up! These two are so much fun!

Denton, TX Reception | Michael+Rachel Part II

Michael and Rachel had one of the most fun and unique receptions that I have ever witnessed. It was held in the courtyard of their friends’ amazing house in Denton, TX.
They had so many super fun details like piñatas, a smores bar and fire pit, and a super fun bounce house that Michal+Rachel had fun jumping in together. I also loved their idea of having an old window for the guests to sign instead of a guest book. It’s something they could actually decorate their house with!

I am so excited for the future that these two have together! I know there will never be a dull moment with their fun personalities and undeniable love for one another.

Denton, TX Wedding | Michael+Rachel Part I

Back in March I photographed Michael+Rachel’s wedding in Denton, TX. Michal is a childhood friend of my husband’s (he was in the wedding…look for the cute blonde with the 50′s hair!), so we were so pumped about this super exciting day!

Their ceremony took place in a field next to their friend’s gorgeous house. It had rained all day up until the wedding (and was perfectly sunny and beautiful for the ceremony!), so the bridesmaids wore rain boots, and both the bride and groom went barefoot. I loved it! When Michael proposed he gave Rachel two rings. One of the rings was a big plastic pink heart ring, and the other was her actual engagement ring. She wore the pink one on her toe, so her bare feet looked precious!

Next to the ceremony location, there was an amazing meadow with tall green grass and white dandelions. It made for possibly some of the most beautiful after-ceremony couple photos! Michael+Rachel were so giddy with excitement about finally being married, I couldn’t help but smile and laugh along with them. There were so stinkin adorable!

Their super fun reception will be posted tomorrow!
